My next “big” car purchase will be a 2015 S65 AMG coupe. It won’t be for 2 years or so, but I drove a friend’s and now I can’t see myself with anything else. I hope to pick up a J100 Land Cruiser sometime next year, though I’m not sure I really need one. After that I’ve got plans to import a Toyota Century in 2022. Anyone else have any car plans for the semi near future ?

These things are just so amazing. I’m still working on the 2021 plan to import a Peugeot 406 Coupe.

This is pretty much my favorite car on sale today. Hopefully I’ll get one in ten years when it’s worth five dollars.

I really like this. Especially in cabriolet form. I am in support of this plan.

Nothing big over $8,000 this decade. However, after 2021 there is definitely a Maserati Granturismo and something Korean coming down.

I’ve always love the GT. That exhaust note is just brilliant.

Driving the Cooper as my daily for the next 4 years or so. Then once I am out of school and settled I want to get a new Mini Clubman Cooper S as my daily and keep the Cooper for autocross and weekend fun duty.

Edit: nevermind, I was getting the 406 confused with the 405.

I think you’re thinking of the 405.

There’s actually a 405 Mi16 near my house. I’ve never seen the thing move.

I’m an impulse buyer. The listing expired, but I’m probably looking at a 1973 Mercedes 220d on airbags this weekend. Idk if I’ll how it drives do to it being a 60hp diesel with a 4spd auto. But it looks dope as fuck, baby blue patina paint with navy interior.

Just go with a 63. Identical driving experience, better sound, less cost, more reliable.

You actually want the V12 one? I’ve never read a single review of anyone praising that engine over the better V8.

Yup. Realised that about 1 minute after I commented. There’s actually a dealership not far from my college which specializes in Peugeots. They always have several 505s and 405s.

Once you’ve daily driven a V12 is honestly hard to go back. I love the pantomime and sense of occasion you get with a 12.

I actually prefer the sound and torque delivery of the 12. The Biturbo 8 is a great motor, better than the M279 in nearly every regard, but the whole V12 experience is just addicting.

I’m likely making payments on my TSX until 2021. After that, who knows. Maybe a turbo Accord, maybe a JDM import, maybe an IS F, maybe a Mustang.

In a ideal world an ND Miata any day now (have someone looking at auctions for me) and an LC500 in 4 or 5 years. I’ll probably need something with more than 2 doors by then. But hopefully a big GT isn’t far away.

Panamera Sport Turismo in a few years. Either 4S or Turbo. I’ll have to sell one or two cars to make room, but it’ll be worth it.

The 63 is AWD and the 65 isn’t though, right?

Start stalking dealers/brokers now, these are just a little rare. I’ll guess by 2020, barring hyperinflation, these will be in the 60-70K range?

That’s going to be a seriously cool car, especially if they offer a stick with the Turbo.

I don’t ever expect a manual gearbox to be offered with the car. But it’s one of the few cars I was willing to give up a manual to own.

And to be honest, for road trips and commuting, I need an automatic car now. I’m far more relaxed and calm. My girlfriend didn’t like road tripping with me when we hit traffic. And to get anywhere I need to go through Orange County and LA. I don’t ever want to drive my 997 through that mess again.

So I’m perfectly okay with a PDK in a Panamera. But 911's...they will always have three pedals.

Not sure where you are, but in a year or so I might be selling my 100 series. 2004 and 170k at the moment, but that will likely be 200k by this time next year.

It was actually styled by Pininfarina and built in Italy with French guts... so it’s probably about the worst idea ever from a reliability point of view, but it’s just so pretty.

Just across the border in MN actually. What sort of condition is it in ?

Funny. The body and interior are in very good condition (at least compared to other 13 year old vehicles in salt country). Very little body rust. Norm rust on undercarriage, but I’ve replaced all the skid and gas tank plates, and many of the bolts and what not. Its not concours, but its been very reliable and genuinely surprises people when they find out how old it is.

I have a 40 mm spacer lift on it, 33" Grabber AT2, TJM skid plates (see my kinja page for pictures and what not), Fox 2.0 shocks, and it comes with a TJM hidden winch mount. The running boards and engine cover are presently off it, but I still have them.

I thought about it, but I’m not sure they’ll depreciate quickly enough, especially for a GT-S. Also, I dailied a C7 corvette for a week, and I definitely prefer the comfort and seating position offered by an S class for a daily driver.
